My name is Lydia, and I am the Director of Business Development here at 3GC. I wanted to take a moment to give you some information on the Mitel Shoretel Merger.
This is an exciting opportunity; the rapidly changing world of technology has required that companies remain nimble and steadfast in the pursuit of excellence. This merger/acquisition is a reflection of ShoreTel and Mitel’s aggressive strategy to become the leader in this market. Moving forward we should expect to see robust offerings for UCaaS, CPaaS as the integration has been solidified.
ShoreTel Onsite customers:
This is not the time to panic, Mitel has been in pursuit of ShoreTel for several years now, and you as the customer is what they value most. Now is the time to renew your support coverage if it has lapsed, upgrade your system in preparation for new rollouts, and get re-engaged with 3GC to review your communications strategy. We are here to help. Some things to be aware of:
Mitel Hardware and Software support will be extended to the ShoreTel product line. This means that customers will be notified one year before the discontinuation of any product and have a guaranteed 5 years of hardware and software support after any product is end of life.
One of the more exciting benefits for ShoreTel customers will be the addition of Mitel’s hardware to the Shoretel ecosystem, Mitel has a variety of advanced, feature rich phones.
For ShoreTel Cloud customers:
Mitel and ShoreTel are committed to a smooth integration of their cloud platforms. Data centers have been built to maintain full functionality without disruption. You can expect that as the integration moves forward, for expanded product lines to be offered as well as feature enhancements.
What Do You Do Next?
Transitions can be scary and it is important to lean on a trusted partner to guide you through making the best decisions for your company. 3GC is staying in constant communication with Shoretel and will update you with any future steps you should be taking. In the meantime:
Clients that are on 14.2 or less, need to migrate to Shoretel Connect, which will be the latest Shoretel GA version in preparation for the merger and end of life of all legacy versions.
Also, we will be holding a webinar with Shoretel and myself to go over this merger and answer any questions that you may have.
