About The Role


The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for the integration and implementation of the infrastructure. He/She will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The task involves troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and best practices.


Responsibilities 


In this role, you'll get to...

  • perform system and network administration (including backup, user account management, e-mail system, internet access, & office systems and applications support such as OS-level concerns, web server, database server, applications server, Email including Apache, MySQL, PHP, FTP, SSH, and DNS). Supports network, desktop hardware, software and applications, and virtual environments

  • roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources

  • assist with technology planning through ongoing research and has Fundamental knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software

  • design, implement, support, and evaluate secure, infrastructure-focused tools and services

  • analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems

  • apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes

  • install and configure new hardware and software

  • add, remove, or update user account information, reset passwords, etc.

  • answer technical queries and assist users

  • be responsible for security, documentation of the system configuration

  • troubleshoot any reported problems

  • perform system performance tuning

  • configure, add, delete, and audit file systems

  • ensure parity between dev, test, and production environments

  • do end user training

  • provide expertise as workloads are transitioned to the cloud while ensuring minimal business disruptions

  • responsible for extensive coordination with respective internal support and engineering teams, and various external partners and vendors on multiple projects and initiatives

  • design, develop, and deploy on-premise and cloud-based systems and services, in collaboration with Engineers, Architects, and in accordance with best practices and strategic direction

  • provide input on technical architecture and direction for the cloud environments

  • perform other duties and tasks that though not documented here, are aligned with this role as it grows and evolves


Requirements 


On day one, we'll expect you to...

  • have bachelor’s degree in computer science or Information Technology or equivalent work experience

  • have 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role

  • have familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

  • be proficient with scripting Technologies

  • have experience in shell scripting

  • have strong knowledge of Solutions Architecture concepts

  • have strong Patch Management experience

  • be a server Infrastructure person with a Dev-Ops, forward thinking mindset

  • have a good problem-solving, documentation and communication skills

  • be knowledgeable in system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery

  • have team management abilities

  • have working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent

  • have strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols

  • have strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

  • have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties

  • be willing to install next-generation endpoint protection on the computer

  • be a current resident of the Philippines and can perform work from there

  • be willing to work in US Pacific business hours (8am-5pm PST which corresponds to 12am-9am PH time, if not DST)
