About The Role 


The Systems Engineer is responsible for the integration and implementation of the infrastructure. He/She will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.


Responsibilities 


In this role, you'll get to...

  • ensure that all installed computing systems and infrastructure are managed, monitored, and maintained on an ongoing basis.

  • provide support for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Windows Server/Workstation OS, Microsoft and other application software, and system management tools.

  • provide support for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of third-party platforms such as Qumulo storage systems, Meraki SD-WAN, JAMF, SyxSense, ArmorPoint/Cybereason, RenderFarms, and A/V equipment.

  • test and maintaining the operating systems, system management tools, and application software.

  • do backup Routines, Maintenance, and Restoration Testing.

  • maintain or implement the highest levels of uptime and availability for systems and infrastructure.

  • serve as final escalation for Service Desk.

  • ensure proper security measures for systems.

  • write custom scripts to reduce human intervention and touchpoints using PowerShell or other scripting language.

  • provide different levels of support to all roles within the organization, from hourly to executive management.

  • risk management for the critical issues.

  • assist in the design and development of information systems and operational support systems.

  • assist vendors and other IT personnel in resolving problems.


Requirements


On day one, we'll expect you to...

  • have 5+ Years as a systems engineer

  • have Bachelors in IT or equivalent work experience

  • be local enough to Irvine, CA to accommodate the hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office.

  • be willing to learn new technologies and platforms then act as SME for those platforms for the organization.

  • be willing to travel upon occasion out of state to Georgia or New York and other locations at need, estimated 6 times a year maximum.

  • be willing to adjust schedule temporarily and only at need for system upgrades or maintenance after normal business hours.

  • have 5+ years of Active Directory/Windows Systems knowledge: Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Wireless, SLAM and other security best practices.

  • have 5+ years of Azure/Office 365 administration

  • have 5+ years of Networking related administration related to Systems troubleshooting in a secure networking environment (trace route, ping, ports, protocols, VPN, IPsec, SSL, etc.)

  • knowledgeable in Veeam or similar backup solution

  • knowledgeable in Cisco Meraki SD-Wan and wireless and or similar Wireless and SD-WAN solutions

  • have experience with storage systems such as Qumulo, Synology, or Dell Compellent

  • knowledgeable in Mobile Device Management through JAMF or Intune, or similar

  • have a strong Troubleshooting abilities

  • have familiarity and experience with SSO/SAML platforms such as Okta

  • be excellent verbal and written communication skills


What separates the best from the rest:

  • Microsoft or Networking certifications a plus

  • Project Management experience a plus

  • Audio/Visual equipment a plus (conference room tv’s and sound systems, tie into Teams, Zoom, et al.)
