Director of Security Operations

 

We have an immediate opening for a Director of Security Operations to support our client’s Global Information Security function. The main job of this role is to work with our teams to develop an effective Security Operations and missions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team of IT Security and engineering resources

  • Take full responsibility for the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the client’s global enterprise systems

  • Work with business and security stakeholders in defining the strategic cybersecurity objectives and goals

  • Keep up to date on security trends, threats, industry IT, and regulatory trends

  • Ensure an effective threat & vulnerability management program is in place to identify and manage cyber threats and vulnerabilities to client’s technology environments throughout their lifecycle

  • Leads the Security Operations (SecOps) Team inclusive of Security Operations Center (SOC) functions that consist of:

  • Monitoring, detection, and analysis activities

  • Threat intelligence activities

  • Incident response (IR) activities

  • Lead the Security Engineering team’s operations, deployment, scalability functions of systems consisting of Perimeter Security, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) / Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Endpoint Security, Anti-Virus/Malware, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Continuous Monitoring of Infrastructure, and eDiscovery platforms

  • Builds, deploys, and maintains all operational aspects of the company-wide software development lifecycle security program

  • Leads the Business Continuity Management Program and all supporting functions that consist of leading and governance council, conduct of risk analysis, impact assessment, business continuity, and disaster recovery exercises, reporting, and updates to global business and IT stakeholders

  • Serves as the primary manager responsible for the operationalization of Risk and Compliance Program components as related to security systems. Builds, measures, and reports compliance program effectiveness metrics for presentation to executive, C-Level, and Board of Director stakeholders

  • Provide communication or escalation path for information security issues identified by Global Information Security or the business themselves

  • Participate in reporting requirements, monthly/quarterly status meetings and offsites as appropriate

Requirements

  • 10-15 years progressive experience leading information technology and/or security teams in engineering, design, and operations

  • Minimum of 8 years of practical experience building threat-based cybersecurity programs, and designing and implementing security controls and compliance programs

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or any related field and minimum 15 years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a geographically dispersed team with global scope and responsibilities

  • Experience in a leadership position within a Security Operations Center preferred

  • Significant demonstrated experience working with Security Information Event Management (SIEM), Continuous Monitoring, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (ID/PS), Network Traffic Analysis, Incident Response, Endpoint Security Systems, Digital Forensics, WLAN Monitoring, and/or Threat Modeling

  • Experience creating security program from ground up

  • Ability to do hands-on management and response when needed,

  • Knowledgeable in information security technologies, networking, systems, and infrastructure architecture in a global capacity required

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Absolute ownership for delivering service and meeting business objectives

  • Ability to manage complex troubleshooting issues

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA or certifications preferred

  • Self-motivated and willing to take on challenges while adapting to an ever-changing operational environment

  • Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how application performance requirements support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals

  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict

  • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours as required which can include evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Adaptability, flexibility and ability to work as part of a team across functional boundaries or in an individual capacity

  • Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information
