Conceptus is a leading Silicon Valley medical device company that designs, develops, and distributes innovative medical products for women. The company was established in Northern California in 1992 and has offices in London and just outside Paris. Growing its employee base by about 10 percent each year and its revenues by nearly 30 percent annually, Conceptus also needs a highly reliable, versatile and easy-to-manage communications solution to support business expansion.

Challenge Presented

The legacy AltiGen phone system could not keep up with corporate growth and office expansion, or offer the additional benefits of integration with Microsoft Office Communications Server.


Conceptus implemented a ShoreTel UC system integrated with Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) to ensure flexible, simple and reliable business interactions. The ShoreTel system includes ShoreTel IP Phones, models 230, 565 and 115, ShoreTel Voice Switches, models 220T1A, 22/24 and 90, ShoreTel Call Manager and ShoreTel Director.
