The VCP is responsible for hosting the Soft Switch, application
servers and storage space as well as upgrading software and providing
maintenance. By connecting to the host site via point to point clear
channel connections (the recommended method) or via the internet, you
will have access to a communications platform without having to put
forth the capital for an in-house PBX system complete with voicemail,
auto attendant and ACD. In addition, your communication's maintenance
cost is reduced to the maintenance of your IT network infrastructure and
desktop phones. All moves, adds and changes (MAC's) are completed
in-house without the complicated processes required for proprietary
phone systems. In fact, all MAC's can be handled remotely where ever
there is internet access, providing anytime access to administrative
control over your communications system. Much of the same benefits you find in hosting your website with an ISP is apparent in the hosted communications model. Although this solution is not the best fit for all businesses, it is a perfect fit for many |
